Bed with Sculpted Headboard in Black Walnut

The low, graceful form of the bed feels like that of a chair. Gentle curves, both in the headboard and frame, echo the barrel-vaulted ceiling of the client’s bedroom.

The headboard was sculpted from a massive 3-inch thick slab of solid wood. The two curved surfaces meet at the center and produce beautiful grain features. The headboard angles back from the base, allowing a comfortable reading position against its smooth surface.The gently curved frame exhibits a very thin profile, yet is made from a substantial section of solid wood. Miter joints meet the strong, tapered legs at the corners, complement the clean lines of the form. Custom steel brackets, hidden from sight, allow the bed to disassemble into its component parts for transport.
